Creating a Cattle Group with a Tru-Test EID Reader
This article picks up after you have used the RS420 to capture your Electronic IDs from the animals you just ran down the chute or worked. You should have downloaded the information using the Allflex Tag manager and export the data to an Excel spreadsheet.
Remember: EIDs must already be in your CattleMax account and matched to a visual ID as well. If not look up the article on Importing EIDs into CattleMax.
Open your CattleMax account and go to the Cattle Tab
Then click New Group
The pop-up box will ask for a name (be sure to select a name that best describes the group), choose the Group Type to be Cattle Group, and add Electronic ID to the list of information to show. The choose Create Group
You should get a page that looks like this, has a Search Animals by Criteria or List at the top and a list of all your cattle.
Be sure to click the drop-down arrow on the far right. Choose Search By List, be sure to add Electronic ID as your Search ID Method. Copy and past your list of EID numbers into the box marked Cattle to Find.
Once all of your EID numbers are copy and pasted into the Search area, click Search for CattleMax to find those animals.
The Results are a list of those animals that you can now Select and then Click Save the Group
Your Group is now Created and you can run Group Update Actions to add the procedures you performed chute side.
You can also find the Group listed under the Cattle tab > View all Groups and Interfaces. The Groups are listed in alphabetical order.
